TI lost a dear member of its
family recently - Anna Keefe, PhD. This page is dedicated
to her memory and all the wonderful things she did for
TI, and the people she helped over the years.
Anna came to TI in 1977, 34 years
ago, and never left. She became a Faculty Member, Supervisor,
Senior Supervisor, Training Analyst, Director of Community
Services, Director of Training, and lastly, Executive
Director. She was known for her compassion, intelligence,
quick wit, style, and love of cooking. She personified
TI and its atmosphere, never feeling too important to
pick up a broom, to carry shopping bags or food for
an event, or to chat with the super or doorman. None
of us would be here if not for Anna’s work on the renovation
of our new home on 27th street. We miss her terribly,
even as we swear we just saw her turn a corner and heard
her laughter in the halls. She is present in her absence.

“A thousand
journeys began in this place |
| |
What magic has
occurred here. |
| |
What marvelous
beginnings have these rooms seen |
| |
What joy so
many have felt |
| |
What wonder
to see things clearly for the first time. |
| |
What shy glances |
| |
What triumphant
grins |
| |
What shared
laughter |
| |
What decisions
have been made |
| |
What sorrows
expressed |
| |
What souls reclaimed |
| |
What gifts have
emerged |
| |
What lives have
been saved |
| |
In this humble
place.” |
