LEE KRAMER, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Lee Kramer graduated from TI's psychoanalysis program in 1985. Over the next 15 years he supervised clinicians in a number of agencies, while also working in private practice. He was president of the Nassau chapter of the NY State Society of Clinical Social Workers and has been on the board of Psychoanalytic Practitioners of LI since 2002. He returned to teach & supervise at TI in 200 & became a director in 2001.
JASON KURTZ, DIRECTOR OF TRAINING
CHRISTINE GROUNDS, CLINICAL DIRECTOR
Christine Grounds has a private practice in psychodynamic psychotherapy and is the Director of Clinical services at The Training Institute for Mental Health, a position she has held since 2009. She graduated from TI’s 2 year program in supervisory practice in 200?, and the 4-year program in psychoanalysis in 2006. Prior to entering social work school, she was an Assistant Vice President at the auction house Christie’s, where she worked since graduating college.

Experienced Medical Psychologist with a demonstrated history of working in the mental health field. Skilled in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic Therapy, Mindfulness, Group Therapy, Clinical Research, and Family Therapy. Strong healthcare services professional who has worked in medical centers with medical school faculty appointments.
Heather deCastro, Assistant Director of Training
Heather deCastro, LCSW (www.heatherdecastro.com) is faculty, supervisor, and Assistant Director of Training at the Training Institute for Mental Health. Currently she is a fourth year student in the Psychoanalysis Program at TIMH. Her private practice is located in Manhattan where she specializes in working with Millennials. Heather’s interviews and presentations include topics ranging from the influence of technology on psychoanalysis, understanding the dating landscape and relationships of Millennials and emerging adulthood.
Lauren Gargano, Assistant Clinical Director
Lauren Gargano, LCSW is a graduate of T.I.'s psychoanalytic psychotherapy program. In addition to her duties as the Assistant Clinical Director, she also heads up the intern program and teaches in the psychoanalytic program. She maintains a private practice in NYC.
Leah Kramnick, Director of Teen Talk Center
Leah Kramnick, LCSW is the director of Teen Talk at TI. She has a Masters in Social Work from Columbia University and received her post masters training in clinical work with adolescents and adults at NYU & training in the treatment of eating disorders and body image struggles at The Women’s Therapy Centre Institute. She is a co-founder of Endangered Bodies, an international coalition of body-positive activists.
Dayna M. Kurtz, Director of the Women's Center
Dayna M. Kurtz, LMSW, CPT, is a leading authority on the subject of women transitioning to motherhood and serves as Director of the Anna Keefe Women's Center at the Training Institute for Mental Health in Manhattan. She is a licensed social worker and NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine) Certified Personal Trainer with an additional certification in training pre- and postnatal clients.
John McCaffrey, Director of Development
For the past 15 years, John McCaffrey has served as the Director of Development at the Training Institute. A graduate of Villanova University, he holds an MA in Creative Writing from the City College of New York.

Clinical Psychologist/Psychoanalyst, Climate Psychology Alliance, practices in Manhattan, 35+ years of clinical experience, member of NYC’s Resilience and Emotional Support Team (REST).

Kristin Wynn is a licensed clinical social worker who incorporates mindfulness practices in treating symptoms of anxiety, depression, and trauma. Meditation has been a vital and integral part of her life since 2003.
