The New Sexual Landscape and
Contemporary Psychoanalysis

Friday, April 22, 2022
7:00 PM - 9:00 PM

Virtual Workshop: Zoom link will be sent 1-2 days before event.

Dr. Knafo will discuss her new book, which describes the myriad ways the sexual landscape has changed over the past few decades. The meanings of gender and sexuality are now being parsed within the realms of gender fluidity and nonheteronormative sexuality. Patients practicing polyamory and BDSM are showing up with greater frequency to our offices. The sea change in sexual attitudes has also made room for the explosive use of internet porn as well as virtual reality, cybersex, and teledildonics for sexual pleasure. Dr. Knafo suggests how psychoanalysts need to update their theories and practices to meet the novel needs of today’s generations.

2 CEs WILL BE OFFERED FOR THIS WORKSHOP - NYS Social workers ONLY
